Potential to Drive

A Vehicle Modifications assessment looks at how you use adapted controls and vehicle access equipment in real-world driving conditions, including driving from a wheelchair. It ensures your setup meets your needs, complies with safety standards, and allows you to drive independently and with confidence. This assessment also includes the prescription and funding application for the required modifications.

Examples of modifications include:

Hand controls including trigger and satellite accelerators
Spinner knobs
Left foot accelerators
Wheelchair lifts and ramps (e.g. transfer seats, swivel seats, door modifications)
Access modifications
Drive from wheelchair or powered wheelchair
